Whether it's for desserts, snacks, or some random munch during the day, your young ones will surely love these quick pastry fixes. Pastries are great since they satisfy your hunger and the sugar rush provides enough energy for the day. Pastries also make an ideal after-meal treat. With a little creativity and a few trips to the pantry, you can make your set of pastries with cake mixes and other ingredients. Cream Puff Cream puffs are bigger and softer versions of the French éclairs. Your young ones will surely delight with the little surprise in every bite as cream puffs come with Custard cream fillings. To make cream puffs, you need half a cup of butter, one cup of boiling water, one cup of sifted flour, four eggs and 1//4 tsp of salt. In a heated saucepan, melt butter with water and wait for the liquid to boil. Once it does, add flour and salt. Put the saucepan a few inches higher from the heat while stirring the mixture. The mixture will form in the middle of the pan. Continue doing this for half a minute to create a paste. Break an egg and beat into paste to produce a fluffy and smooth uniformity. Repeat the step until you've used up all the eggs. Place the paste in ¼ cup and drop in an ungreased sheet. Make sure they are around three inches apart to make room for when the puff starts to expand. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Let it cool and prepare the cream filling. You can buy a ready-to-use custard cream and fill the pastry puffs inside. Glazed Fruit Pie Fruit pies are healthy, sweet, and satisfying, making them the ultimate comfort food and snack-to-go. Have your young ones love eating fruits with this easy to prepare glazed fruit pie. You will need one and a half cup of cold milk, four servings of Jello instant pudding, a ready-made pie crust, one serving of gelatin in the fruit flavor that your young ones prefer, one cup boiling water, half cup of cold water and two cups of fruits that are in season. Create a mixture of cold milk and instant pudding into a bowl. Beat for a good minute and then pour the beaten mixture into the baked and cooled pie crust for an hour. While waiting, dissolve gelatin powder in a bowl of boiling water. Add cold water to thicken the mixture. After an hour, take out the pie filing and place one cup of gelatin on top. Put the fruits and apply Pastry glazes or sugar glaze on top of the pie. Let it chill for two hours before serving in the table. There are different ways that you can try when it comes to preparing pastries and cakes for your young ones. Make sure to put fruits in season so that it's easier to buy them and you incorporate fruits into their daily diet. You can also tone down the sweetness factor by taking out the sugar and letting the natural sweetness of the fruits dominate the taste of your pastries. |
