The use of fresh mint juice is a good overnight remedy for acne.

Crushed garlic cloves dabbed on to the face once or twice a day can help acne, even though it is one of the more smelly options.

Steep 2 to 3 teaspoons of dried basil with a cup of boiling water.  Leave for 20 minutes and apply to the skin with cotton wool.

One of the best acne home remedies is to grind orange peel with some water to a paste and apply to the affected area.

Mix 1 teaspoon of lemon juice in 1 teaspoon of finely ground cinnamon power and apply to the acne.

Place mint juice and turmeric together and apply to the acne.  Leave it on the skin for 30 minutes and then rinse off with warm water.

Use corn flour mixed with an egg white.  Place it onto the face and allow it to dry completely for approximately half an hour.  Once it is dry, dip your hands into warm water and give your face a massage and wash it off.  This will help to reduce acne and give you smoother skin.

One eastern approach to acne home remedies is to mix a paste of tender neem leaves together with turmeric and applying to the affected area.

Grind nutmeg with milk and apply to acne. 

Using 3 tablespoons of honey and 1 teaspoon on cinnamon powder, make a paste.  Apply this to the skin before sleeping and wash it off the following morning with warm water.  This should be repeated for a minimum of two weeks.

If you have swelling acne, then apply the juice of a raw papaya, including the skin, onto the affected area.

Place the pulp of ripe tomatoes onto acne for at least one hour.

Using honey as often as possible is a great acne home remedy.  This is because honey actually kills bacteria.

Fresh fruit and vegetables should be included in your daily diet, along with raw nuts, sprouted seeds and wholegrain cereals, particularly millet and brown rice.

Foods to be avoided are strong tea and coffee, pickles, fizzy drinks, candies, processed foods and a large amount of meat, until your skin condition has improved.
