A Perfect Day in Paris |
Date Added: May 21, 2013 09:53:37 PM |
When it comes to travel plans, your first step is, of course, to focus on booking a Paris hotel. Do it as soon as possible so as not to waste what precious little time you have to explore the amazing City of Lights! Morning Enjoy breakfast out at one of the city's charming and quaint street cafés or buy an éclair and enjoy your morning pastry while walking down Champs-Elysees. As you do this, you'll also get to enjoy the panoramic sights of the Eiffel Tower and the river Seine, which is the subject of many popular European artworks. Lunch
Even if you are not that fond of museums, you should know that the museums of Paris are a league on their own. Start by visiting the Musee de l'Orangerie, which is home to the well-known Waterlilies landscape of Claude Monet. Other artworks that are housed in this gallery include paintings by other great artists, such as Picasso, Matisse, Sisley, and Cezanne. Afternoon If you are done with lunch, then you can head out to one of Paris' best known attraction, the Eiffel Tower. To reach the top, take a lift only up to the second floor and then switch to the lifts that zoom all the way to the top. Afterwards, consider taking a waterbus – the French refer to it as a Batobus – which is an experience in itself. This can take you all the way to the Jardin des Plantes, once a herb garden of Louis XIII. Also nearby is the Latin Quarter, the best-known stomping ground for Paris' artsy student crowd. Be sure to drop by at the main campus of the university in Sorbonne. There, you can at least feel like a true-blue Parisian student – even if just for a day! Paris hotel deals in this area can be more affordable than most! Evening
Enjoy dinner at St.Germain des Pres, which is where the literary giants used to gather. Just imagine yourself dining at a place where the likes of Joyce, Stein, Hemingway, and Sartre once dined! Remember that like New York, this is a city that never sleeps so you can continue exploring for as long as you can keep your eyes wide open. |
